My professor once said, "if you're looking at a career as a speech-language pathologist or an audiologist, it's best to start looking for a job related to our field, now."
I was only in my second semester of the speech-language pathology (SLP) program. I didn't have any credentials or license to meet the requirements to even start applying for jobs!
Aside from occasional volunteering opportunities from my NSSLHA chapter and volunteering hours as an interpreter at my University's speech-language clinic I didn't know where to look. How do I volunteer as an interpreter at the clinic if I speak one language or what if the clients being served at the University's clinic do not speak the same languages as I do?
I am here to share my experience as an undergraduate in SLP ranging from the setbacks I had, my SLPA internship, research, jobs, etc.
I will be sharing topics related to various jobs, volunteer work, research, projects, extracurricular activities, and interviews with other SLP students, etc to inspire you to have an overall positive experience in your academics.
